You really need to describe what computer system you are working on, and the particular tax product (and year) you are using.  This is critical, since  MAC and Windows issues with software updates can be entirely different.....and if MAC, then we need to get a MAC person involved.

1) If you've updated the software from the main TTX menu and it hasn't worked, then shut down and do a full reboot of your computer before trying to update again .  I know people using Windows, with a parially-installed  Windows update...they can't really get the proper new TTX update until the Windows update has been completed by a full reboot.   and, There was a new W10 update in the past two weeks.

2) A MAC could have similar issues, and some MAC update problems have been fixed in the past by a full reboot first.

I am using a Mac running High Sierra.  I rebooted, tried, same issue. I have uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, same issue.  I installed software on my wife’s Mac, totally fresh, same issue.

I looked online line and it seems like this has occurred to several other people, with no clear online resolution.

Thanks

Is it 2018 software of a prior year?

A Mac uninstall involves more than just trashing the application.  It is usually the hidden support files that cause problems.

Corruption could have occurred in the Application or in an associated preference or support file.

The best remedy is to totally uninstall TurboTax and all associate files and then re-install. That will not delete or change any .tax2018 data file that had already been created with the tax data.

To uninstall the application and all associated files need to be deleted and then the application reinstalled. If there was a state then the state must also be reinstalled.

Here is a FAQ for how to uninstall Mac
