How will i know if i need to pay into federal

For tax year 2019, if you owe federal income taxes, the TurboTax program will let you know once you complete your federal tax return. 

• Note: The TurboTax refund meter is not correct until all your information has been entered and the IRS forms have been finalized.

If you owe federal taxes the indicator at the top of the online program screen should show Taxes Due after you have completed entering everything on your tax return. 

When you are in the File section of the program in Step 2, if you have federal taxes owed, the amount will be shown and you are give options on how to pay the taxes.
