How to fix Reject Code IL1040-11870-1?

Hey there! I actually just figured it out accidentally. Hit the “fix my return” button, then go to the side and hit “your state return”. Don’t go to “review”, or “state review” as it just lands you back on that same page where it tells you the code. After you hit “your state return” you’ll hit “edit” and on the next page or so, you’ll find a big button up top that says something like “go over Illinois return” hit that go through it, and itll say something was missed and pop up with the check box that you need to check off. Finish up all of that. After that just file away. It’ll still say that your state was rejected and that button for “fix my return” will be there again, but again you just fixed so click continue and refile. Hopefully I did an even slightly decent way of explaining this as I was in the same boat as you.
