How to file married separately for state tax while federal tax is married jointly--How to get AGI number for married separately state tax?

Me and wife both have income--I lived in NC/paid NC state tax, she lived in VA with daughter/paid for VA state tax.  We filed married jointly for federal tax.  Does she has to file married separately for VA state tax?  How can she get AGI number for VA tax?  My income should not be counted in VA income. But the AGI from federal tax filing are for both of us.
