How to efile last years taxes

I forgot filing last years taxes. How can I efile it on turbotax?

A past year return cannot be e-filed. Only a 2023 return can be e-filed.  The only way to file a past year return is by mail.   Print it, sign and date it in ink and mail it in.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

2019 an earlier can't be filed with TurboTax. You can get the forms from the IRS and your state websites to manually prepare Federal and state returns. However, you can file your 2020,2021 and 2022 return with TurboTax. 

You'll need to purchase and download that year's TurboTax software for PC or Mac. TurboTax online is only available for current year.
