How to e-file state return later than federal return.

I e-filed my federal tax return and it has been accepted and I have received my refund.  My state return is not due until May 1, and I owe tax to the state so I did not e-file it with my federal return.  Now when I try to e-file my state return only, the program tries to e-file both returns and gives me an error message saying the filing is a duplicate.  I already paid Turbotax extra to e-file my state return, but everything I've tried doesn't let me e-file only my state return.  I know I've done that in prior years, but not 2024.  Help!
