Well, I was in "incognito mode" when this happened. When I clicked decline, TT said I had to fill in my name and date, so I did that and then clicked decline, and then TT went to the next screen. I'm surprised I had to fill in name and date in order to decline since it seems you would only do that if you agree to the consent to disclose. So now I'm wondering what the outcome is... How do I find out if TT processed this as decline or agree? (I have since efiled.) Thanks for the help.
It would be best to follow the instructions here to speak with us by phone. We are unable to access your account here in this public forum to look this up.
I was able to talk to a "Product Specialist", but she wasn't able to look up how TT/Intuit processed this decline or agree choice for the consent to disclosure of tax return information. She claimed the consent isn't for marketing or sharing info to outsiders of TT/Intuit. She said it's to bring forward the prior year info to the next year and also for importing from banks/brokerages if wanted. Well, in the past I've always declined and my data was always brought forward to the next year and I have never done the importing. She also referred me to the TT/Intuit Privacy Statement available on the website, but I didn't find anything there for this particular consent document. So, in conclusion my issue/question wasn't resolved as I think TT/Intuit ought to be able to tell me whether the consent was processed by them as decline or agree.
I have exactly the same concern. I printed out the consent page, but it was completely blank! I don't think TT is being transparent about the process, and I hope that they resolve this as soon as possible.
