My paystubs show the NYPFL withholding, but my W2 does not list it on Box 14. I'm itemizing NY tax returns and want to claim that deduction, where do I enter that deduction?

To deduct this as a state income tax, you would enter "NYPFL" in the description for box 14 of your W-2 form, then the amount in box 14 and select "Other deductible state or local tax" for the entry the Category box.
Thanks for the reply, so even if Box 14 on my W2 is blank, I can enter it in turbotax as a Box14 item while filling out my W2 information?
There are 2 "others" for Box 14. One is other deductible state or local tax and the second is other not classified.
NYPFL is for paid family leave, of which it appears you are aware - a program similar to state disability insurance. This tax is federally deductible (though with tax reform changes it will be harder to see a tax benefit). You should choose "Other mandatory deductible state or local tax not on above list" Its a relatively new tax so its possible at some point in the future it may be added to the list similar to NJ FLI but there is no need to wait for an update as the tax treatment is the same with the above selection.
