I started working as contractor starting this year around May . I knew I have to pay quarterly taxes back in June when June 15 approaching I was trying to use Turbo Taxes but I couldn't proceed because it keeps pointing me back 2020 taxes with due time approaching I ended up asking a friend's CPA to calculate my estimated taxes for 2021 and I ended paying it on pay1040.com using CC since I don't have money during that time I received confirmation # from pay1040 but nothing from IRS is that normal ? I wander how can I make sure IRS have received my payments ? I sent emails to pay1040 but receive nothing. there is no human agent from their tech support as well. please advise.

No you don't get any confirmation. Your proof is your bank account or credit card showing the payment. You have to keep track of the dates paid and amounts to manually enter into your tax return next year.
Yes you use your 2020 current return to prepare the estimates. You already figured them and paid but here's how to use Turbo Tax .
To prepare estimates for next year you start with your current return, but be careful not to change anything. If you can't get back into your return, Click on Add a State to let you back into your retun.
You can just type W4 in the search box at the top of your return , click on Find. Then Click on Jump To and it will take you to the estimated tax payments section. Say no to changing your W-4 and the next screen will start the estimated taxes section.
Or Go to….

To just estimate the remaining quarters put in that you paid $1 for the missed quarters so it will only calculate the remaining quarters.
