I e-filed my tax return three days ago and my return has been accepted by IRS.
I just realized I made a mistake on my return (short-term capital gain was reported as long-term capital gain), roughly $22 difference.
How can I do an amendment on my e-fling?

If the return is accepted you will have to amend your original tax return. An amended return, Form 1040X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed. The IRS will take up to 16 weeks or longer to process an amended tax return.
Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.

The IRS Form 1040-X for amending a 2020 tax return is scheduled to be available on 03/18/2021 (subject to change)
@DoninGAI just double checked with you that I must wait until I receive the refund to amend my return ,right?
And how about my state tax return?
I am going to mail my state return forms ? The Federal schedule forms are required. Should I still include the wrong one? or mail the corrected schedule form along with my state return forms?
Thanks.
@manbeing If changing the federal return will change your state tax return then you will have to amend the state return after amending the federal return. Most state amended returns can only be printed and mailed.
You only send the amended tax return and any forms or schedules that were changed due to the amending.
