How the heck do i talk to an actual human being ?

i am trying to get live agent assistance but it says they cant help me until i select a product.  How confusing.  How do i select a product if i dont know what product I need?  So frustrating.

I can not tell if my federal extension was filed. When I try to continue through it appears to be trying to submit my state and federal taxes. I can not  disconnect from the chat, not even when I log out and back in. The AI does not type anything or I can not read the responses, I only see the time. If I call the 1-800 number I have to argue with a computer which does nothing

To confirm if your extension has been filed, you can log into the 

• IRS Online account for individuals  or
• You will receive an email within 48-72 hours confirming your extension has been accepted.
