How should I do to file by mail?

Hi Team,

I must file by mail because my wife lives in a foreign country, she has never been in the US and does not have an SSN.

I have been reading some related Q & As like those.

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/i-would-like-to-file-a-tax-refund-through-turbota...

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/printing/help/how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online...

https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/in[product key removed]rt/help/foreign-spouse-without-ssn/00/11195...

However, I am having trouble changing from e-file to the mail EVEN IF I have changed the payment method to the credit card.

They are always saying that...

"File by mail is not available because you have selected to pay balance due with direct debit. If you want to file by mail, you must go back and choose a different method to pay your taxes."

I DID change the payment method obviously though!

Anyway how should I do to address this in order to file by mail?

How should I do to file by mail?

The only way to file by mail was to select "pay by check", not "Pay with credit card" that was explained in some Q & As.
I am not sure why but there seems to be no other way I can do that, unfortunately.
