How many tax returns can I file with this product? Last year I filed with Turbo Tax and downloaded the program. I was able to do 3 returns. One for me and my brother.

for the desktop / download version, you can complete an unlimited number of returns. You can load the software on up to 5 computers that you own (you can't give it to friends to take advantage of the unlimited completion feature)

However, you can only efile 5 returns (that is an IRS limitation) and the rest would have to be paper filed. thre is no charge for efiling.

for state, you pay for efiling (about $25 except NY which is free), but you can print and mail an unlimited number of return.

online is different.  you pay for each one.

The Desktop CD/Download program can do unlimited returns.

Thats why if you need to do more than 1 return we recommend you buy the Desktop CD/Download program.  It can do unlimited returns and efile 5 for free.  And you can buy a lower version.  All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.  Buy the Desktop program in stores or directly from Turbo Tax here

Only you know what you have.  Did you install Turbo Tax on your computer?  That is the Desktop program.   It should say which version it is.  Or are you going online and logging into an account?  Do you see the menu tabs going across the top or in a black bar down the left side?

The Desktop program can do unlimited returns and efile 5 for free.  So you can do your brother's return.  Go up to FILE - NEW.
