How do my state taxes work if I am a resident of one state but go to college in another?

I am a university student in Arizona but my parents are residents of Arkansas which means I am too. I worked and lived in Arizona all throughout 2021. How do I file my state taxes?

You will file to both states.  You will reconcile your taxes to Arizona, where you work, and then declare the income to Arkansas.  Although Arkansas also taxes this income, they will give you a credit for the taxes you pay to Arizona on it.

Prepare the Arizona nonresident return first, and then the Arkansas resident return for the credit to be applied.
