How do I unlink my credit karma account?

You can change the external bank account associated with your Credit Karma Money Save account:

1. From your Save or Spend home screen, select Settings.
2. Under Funding select Linked bank account.
3. Choose Change linked account below your currently linked bank account.
4. Select Continue on the screen informing you that “This will replace the existing bank account connected to your Credit Karma Money accounts.”
5. Select Continue on the screen that says “Credit Karma uses Plaid to link your bank.” 
6. Find your bank by selecting its logo or by using Search.
7. Log in with your online banking username and password.
8. Choose which account you’d like to link if you have multiple accounts at this institution.
9. If linking was successful you will see “Success! Bank account changed” displaying your new linked account shown. 
10. You can now use your new linked account with your Credit Karma Money Save or Spend account.
    • If your previous linked account had an active automated deposit to Credit Karma Money Save, then you will have the option to authorize automatic deposits with your new linked bank account. If you choose not to authorize automated deposits, you can set them up
      again later.

What if I don’t want to link another account I just want to remove it. How would I go about that?

@Avacadosfor1sixtynineplustax  How can I unlink my external bank account from my Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts? You can unlink your external bank account by replacing it with a different one or by closing your Credit Karma Money Spend and Save accounts.

How do I close my Credit Karma Money Save account?

If you want to close your Credit Karma Money Save account*, we make it very easy for you to do so as long as you don’t have any pending transfers or open disputes. Any pending transfers or open disputes must be resolved in order to proceed with closing your account.

Note: At this time, If you close your account, you will not be able to reopen it or create a new one.

After confirming you have no pending transfers or open disputes, use the following steps to close your account:

1. Go to your Credit Karma Money Save account
2. Find the Credit Karma Money Save Account Settings page at the bottom of the savings hub
3. Select Close Savings Account
4. Select Continue on the following screen
   • Closing your Credit Karma Money Save account will automatically transfer any remaining funds and earned interest to your linked external account
   • Any scheduled automated deposits will be canceled
5. You will see a screen where you can tell us your reason for closing. This is to help us improve the service, you will be able to close your account if you choose any reason for closing.
   • If you would prefer not to provide a reason please choose Something Else as your reason
6. You will see a confirmation screen. If you are sure you would like to close your Credit Karma Money Save account select Confirm.
7. You will see a screen confirming your account has been closed. We will also send a confirmation to the email address associated with your account.

Your statements and tax forms will continue to be available to you after you close your Credit Karma Money Save account.
