How do i see my old 2023 w2 files? i need to see my past jobs i worked for

I NEED A COPY OF MY W-2  (or 1099)

 W-2's come from employers.  There is not a federal or national website that provides W-2’s.  

TurboTax does not have a copy of your W-2—the Wage & Tax Statement—issued to you by your employer, (nor does TurboTax have copies of your 1099’s).   You should always save those documents for your own records. You could ask the employer(s) for copies or you can get a copy from Social Security (for a fee of $62).

If you saved a pdf of your completed tax return, the worksheets will show the W-2 information you entered, but not the actual W-2.

You can get a wage and income transcript from the IRS:  It will not show the actual W-2, 1099’s, etc, but will show the income information the IRS received.  It will not, however, show your state information. It will only show the federal information.

SAVE YOUR OWN W-2!  TURBOTAX DOES NOT SAVE IT FOR YOU.  TurboTax will not have a copy of it in your account and will not have an image even if you snapped a photo or imported it.  It is up to you to save it for your own records as stated on the back of the W-2.

Yes, you can see previous years provided you used TurboTax last year

• You will have to use your original ID and Password.
• You can get the TurboTax software at TurboTax Online.

If you haven't started your current year return.

Sign in to TurboTax. 

1. On the Tax Home screen,
2. Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents
3. Choose the year you want 
4. Select the year you want,
5. Click on Download/print return (PDF).
   • If the year you're looking for isn't there, it might be in a different account.
   • Go here to find all of your accounts. 
   • One of them should have the return you're looking for.

If you've started your current year return.

Sign in to your TurboTax account. 

1. Make sure you're using the same TurboTax account (same user ID) as in previous years.
2. There are two ways to get your prior-year returns.
   • Select Documents from the side menu, use the dropdown menu to choose the tax year you want, and select Download tax PDF.
   • From Tax Home, scroll down and select Your tax returns & documents. Select the year you want and select Download/print return (PDF).
