Self-employment tax is included in the total tax on your tax return. You do not pay it separately. The self-employment tax is on Schedule 2 line 4 and is included in the "other taxes" on Form 1040 line 23.
If you have net business income of more than $432 TurboTax will automatically calculate the self-employment tax and include it on your tax return. If your net business income is $432 or less there is no self-employment tax.
If you have self-employed income, self-employment tax will be calculated by TurboTax on Schedule SE.
The amount of self-employment tax is transferred to Schedule 2 line 4, then to line 23 of form 1040.
Self-employment tax is added to your taxes due (or subtracted from your tax refund). You do not need to pay it separately.
