EXACTLY!!! I ALREADY FILED! I don't want changes downloaded that might change what I ACTUALLY ALREADY FILED with the IRS. I just need to go it, open my return, review some info and get back out. Being forced to do updates is NOT good for the reason stated above. The checkpoint should be to download all updates before filing!
Thank you to the brilliant minds for the workarounds!!
I'm sure it makes you update before filing.
If you are using the Windows Desktop program, the first thing I do after installing the program is change the Updater settings to ask me first. To change the Windows program Update Preferences settings go up To Online - Updater Preferences
It works if you click on "Update" and then in the next window immediately click "Cancel", then "Cancel update" then "OK". Turbo Tax will then open up for you and you will be right where you left off when you saved it.
Agreed with the other frustrated users about not being able to input information without updates first. Went to the mountains, no internet, planned to input data but was restricted due to no internet!!! Very Frustrating!!! If you are so concerned about us not filing without updating, make the update a condition of filing, not opening the program I paid for!!!
This is the problem with Turbo Tax and the "support?? " supposedly offered. That was a foul response and completely unprofessional!
