How do I open a file from TurboTax that ends in .tax file

I tried to download a file from Turbo Tax that ends in .tax file I am unable to open this format. Any suggestions?

The tax data file .tax was only from TurboTax desktop programs from tax year 2007 and earlier.  No longer supported by TurboTax.

For a fee you could use the following website to get a PDF from the .tax file - https://www.taxprinter.com/

................and .taxyyyy files can only be opened on the fully-installed desktop software for the yyyy year involved...including the state.

...only 2022, 2023, 2024 desktop software is available for new installations now.
