I need the Turbotax Home and Business for 2023 since I just started a business. Turbotax usually find information from prior year tax return to import. I do not see this option since 2022 was created by Turbotax Premier. is this right?

Did you use the Desktop Premier for 2022? You should have the .tax2022 file on your computer to transfer into 2023. By the way, it doesn't matter which version you used. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions. So you could still use Premier.
Are you on Windows? It should be in your Documents then in a Turbo Tax folder. Or search your whole computer for all files ending in .tax or .tax2022. And check your Recycle Bin. Are you on Windows 10? That can move files to different spots like to One Drive. Or to Drop Box. Check your backups. Could it be under a different user on your computer?
Try starting a new return, File-New and see if you can transfer. If it doesn't find last year's file you can browse to where it is.
Here's an idea. Do you still have 2022 installed? Try opening 2022 program and see if you can get your 2022 return to show up in it. Go to FILE - OPEN. Then save it again with a name and place you can find. Go to File - Save As.
Hi, I'm using the mac version and i have 2022 tax files on my mac but the data wasn't imported into the 2023 version. so odd. this is the first time this happened to me. I've used Turbotax for many years. is there a way to import the data? i only get .txf and 2022 files are not .txf files.
i tried to open the 2022 tax return while in 2023 version and finally got the prompt to import data. very weird.
You have the .tax2022 file from last year? You aren't importing it you are Transferring it. You can only transfer before you start 2023. So start over and start a new return,
To transfer into the Mac program you have to start a new return.
Don't go up to "File" on the TT toolbar within the program instead go up to the very top of the Mac's screen, way up to top left of the screen. There is a little apple there in the corner. Next to it, if you have TT open, it will show TurboTax. To the right of those words you can click on File and get the drop down that will give you "New Tax Return" so that you can start over.
How to transfer into Mac Desktop
Mac automatically saves the .tax files. But you may have to search for it.
