How do I get my w2 from the website?

Did you not save the paper copy the employer mailed to you?  Or can you not access them online any longer if no paper form was mailed ?

Your individual income entries are in the worksheets that are part of the pdf.  The system is currently transitioning from 2019 to 2020, so you will not be able to get to all of those worksheets for 2019 until the transition is complete in early December.  You should always save your own copies of your W-2's and 1099's.

As stated on the back of the W-2 -
Keep Copy C of Form W-2 for at least 3 years after the due date for filing your income tax return. However, to help protect your social security benefits, keep Copy C until you begin receiving social security benefits, just in case there is a question about your work record and/or earnings in a particular year.

TurboTax does not have a copy of the W-2 or Form 1099. It would have W-2 and Form 1099 worksheets that included the tax data from the forms that were entered. The worksheets would be included in the PDF of the tax return in the tax year the return was completed.  If you did not already save a copy of the PDF with the worksheets then you will need to wait until December when the online system opens up again to save a PDF that will include all worksheets.

Copies of a Form 1099 would have to obtained from the issuer of the form.

To access your current or prior year tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the userID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and on the section Your tax returns & documents click on Show.  Click on the Year and Click on Download/print return (PDF)

See this TurboTax support FAQ for accessing prior year online tax returns - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/prior-year-return/help/how-do-i-access-my-prior-year-return/01/270...

If you cannot obtain the W-2 from your employer, then for a fee you can get a complete copy of a W-2 from the Social Security Administration - https://faq.ssa.gov/en-us/Topic/article/KA-02501

You can get a free Wage and Income transcript from the IRS - https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

For a fee of $50 you can get a complete federal tax return to include copies of W-2's, if you mailed the tax return and included a paper W-2, from the IRS by completing Form 4506 - http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4506.pdf

TurboTax does not have a copy of your W-2.

Some employers partner with TurboTax to make their W-2 information available to download electronically into TurboTax, but this does not create an official W-2 that you can use for income verification.  If you enter your own W-2 information into TurboTax, this creates an internal income worksheet in the program that contains the information, but this is also not legal verification of your income.

You should always obtain your official W-2 from your employer and keep it for at least seven years. If you cannot get a copy from your employer, you can pay the Social Security administration to send you a copy, as described above.
