How do I file the return for my mother who passed away in 2025.

If you are going to use the TurboTax online editions, you will need to create an account for her.  When asked for an email address you can use your own email.

Go to this TurboTax website and click on Sign Up to create an account - https://turbotax.intuit.com/

Then you need to start the 2025 tax return.  In the My Info section you enter her information as if she is filing her tax return.   In the My Info section you land on a screen labeled Let's check for some other situations.  Check the box labeled I am preparing this return for (her name), who has passed away.

Follow the instructions and complete her tax return.
