To complete and file a 2017 tax return using TurboTax you would need to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2017 desktop editions from this website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2017 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

Be aware that you can not file a prior year tax return with the online version of TurboTax. For the CD versions that you install on your computer, TurboTax only supports the current tax filing year (2020 as of this post) and three years back. So you can purchase, download and install TurboTax 2017 on your windows or MAC computer, and then use that program to complete your 2017 tax return.

You can purchase TurboTax 2017 CD installation program at https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/  Make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN you select the 2017 tax year. If you purchase for the wrong tax year, you own it.

After you pay for the product, you will be able ot download it. Once downloaded, you can double-click on the EXE installation file to install it (windows) or drag the file to the applications folder (MAC) to install it.

Once installed, double-click the TurboTax 2017 icon that will be on your desktop, to get started.

If you have questions concerning your 2017 taxes please feel free to ask your questions in this forum. But make sure you clearly specify your question pertains to a 2017 tax return. This is because tax laws changed "dramatically" starting in 2018.

Also take note that you will not be able to e-file a prior year tax return. You will have to print it, sign it and mail it to the IRS.

If your return is a simple one,

you can get 2017 Form 1040 from the IRS website in fillable PDF format and handle this yourself.
