A Form 1095-C is not entered on a federal tax return.
What penalty are you referring to?
There is a penalty if one does not have health insurance, and I entered in the incorrect number of months not insured. I want to know how to get some of the penalty refunded.
This must be on on a State tax return since the federal return does not require you to have health insurance.
Which state?
California

I don't know about 1095. You don't even need to enter a 1095C form. I think you just start the state return again and look for the question if you had insurance. I think I remember answering yes. Maybe if you say no it will it will ask you more questions like how many months. I'm going out but can open my program later and check.
Problem is, I have already submitted my forms and want to know how to amend them. The 1095-C was received after I finished and sent my forms in. I made a mistake on the number of months uninsured and want to get some of my penalty payment back.
If you already submitted your return and it has been accepted, you need to amend it to make any changes.
