How do I buy TurboTax to download? Not, how do I download after purchase? Intuit pushes TT Online so hard, they're wasting download-customers' time by hiding this option.

I have this problem every year now. If Intuit doesn't make it easier to buy a downloadable version I will eventually find another product.  I don't want a subscription or an on-lone experience.  I want software on my machine.

You can buy the Desktop CD/Download program at

After you pick a version and click on Shop now.  If you want a CD you need to pick the box on the right side.

Or buy it at stores or online at Amazon, Costco, Sam's etc.

When you use desktop software, there is an additional fee to e-file a state return.  You can avoid that fee if you print, sign and mail the state return.  The state e-file fee is $20 and increases to $25 in March.

I buy mine at Costco.  They usually have a sale price in January and Costco (and some other big box stores) have a $10 rebate that will apply to any extra fee you need to pay like the state efile fee or if you need to buy another state program.  You can find sale prices all over.
