How do I actually talk to someone about a calculation error in my taxes due (tax liability - taxes paid =/= my tax due)? I'm not signing up for tax support for an error.

This is simple math on the summary page, and their math is wrong.

Check the actual tax return.  Is the tax due on 1040 line 37 wrong?  See if you have a penalty on line 38.  That adds to it.

Volvogirl is correct that the underpayment penalty gets added to the tax due in an out-of-sequence way.

What summary page are you referring to? Not a tax form, right?

What are the numbers that you think don't add up?
