You won't be able to split the payment between two credit cards using TurboTax. Instead, choose "Pay by check" and then e-file.  After you e-file, you can use the IRS website below to make two separate payments with a credit card directly to the IRS.

How can I pay my taxes from two sources?

Your solution is terrible. It also sounds very scary, as I am required to submit with my checking account (for the full amount), and then believe that its going to be an easy step to just log onto the IRS website and make a credit card payment for the portion I DO NOT HAVE IN MY CHECKING ACCOUNT, and believe this is actually going to happen as I need it to??? NO WAY! You guys or the IRS are going to screw it up and I am going to have the full amount charged to my checking account and the withdrawal will bounce because I do not have the full amount!!! This SUCKS!!! Why can't Turbo Tax just get it together to allow multiple methods of payment? Seriously, you're a software company! It's a simple program to split a payment. Companies do it all the time. This is actually extremely important and you are making it more scary and extremely difficult ( so much I do not believe even 5%)  that it will actually happen as it needs to.

How do I make a payment for my Federal Return that is divided between my checking and a credit card?

The solution above from PattiF is legitimate. If you select Pay by Check, you will be able to E-file and TurboTax will tell you to send in a check using a voucher. You will not have paid anything at this point. Now you can instead go to the IRS website she mentions and make your payments there using two separate methods.
