thank you! last year my Ex did our taxes and turboTax added a 3800 general Business Credit form, a 251 alt min tax and a Premium Tax Credit form. I was not the person doing the taxes and I can not get the system to replicate this way of filing this year. Suggestions on how to navigate this?
All of the forms you mentioned would be added to your return only if they are required. Keep in mind that if you are not filing a joint return for 2021, then your overall tax situation may be very different than it was in the prior year.
If you are not seeing all of the forms included in your return, then that's ok. That just means the income and deductions you have reported do not require those additional forms.
For example, Form 6251 Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) is only included if the AMT is greater than your regular tax. The AMT is a separate tax system that uses different deductions and calculations. These days, it is rare to see AMT and Form 6251 included as part of a tax return.
