I spent 2+ hrs on the phone with TurboxTax support. They gave me endless "codes" that didn't work. I hung up and figured it out.
Go to: Help -> "Pay by Phone" -> "State eFile" and call 1-877-559-8824 (do not call Turbo Tax support - they do not know how to resolve it). The SALES person will take your information and give you a correct "State eFile Confirmation Number" to file.
I don't know how legit that are, but when I texted them at midnight on a Saturday, they responded within 15 seconds, and gave me a different activation code (that worked).
Agreed. Great recovery. I texted on a Sunday and very responsive
btw. It would be great if Turbo Tax / Intuit had a more informative when a transaction fails due to a licensing issue IMO
Pay with Federal refund worked for me
Thank you Amybeth.
You had the most helpful post and right to the point. This saved me a lot of aggravation.
Thanks.
I'm having the same problem. Can Intuit fix this?? It's April 13. This is terrible. I have checked my payment information and tried to efile for the last 2 hours. Nothing works.
Read the posts in the thread. If you bought it from BigHome you can text them and they will give you a code that should work. If you didn't, try the pay by phone option. I'm not sure where to find this. Or if you're getting a refund, use that to pay.
More importantly, why doesn't Intuit shut down companies from selling Turbotax if (1) they know about them, and (2) they aren't authorized? And why don't they implement a password-per-serial number so that only the authorized user can install Turbotax (others wouldn't know your password)? Seems to me that Intuit just doesn't care if their customer base thinks they're buying from an authorized reseller and actually are being scammed. Not very polite!
i called intuit support and resolved the issue in < 5min. i was trying to file for state tax, and the payment was blocked, so the support person asked me to use a different menu to submit payment, i gave her my cc number over the phone, she made the payment and gave me a code to enter, then submitted the state tax return successfully.
After two hours of total frustration and three levels of tech support, I was told the same thing, that I should pay by phone. The problem is that customer service would not let me pay for audit defense by phone. Unless you have some magic number to share whre this could actually be accomplished, the information you are sharing is incorrect!
I didn’t get audit defense. I only paid state tax as stated. The info I shared above is my experience and it’s 100% correct, no one is paying me to lie lol
I can't edit or delete my comments, but Amy is correct about Big Home Tax. My code didn't work, and I was definitely caught off guard when I discovered the issue as I tried to submit my taxes. Not the surprise I needed at midnight! 😡
But, following Amy's advice, I texted Big Home Tax at the number on their webpage, and they immediately responded. They gave me a different code, and I was able to submit my taxes.
