Hi! If I no longer want to pay by tax return by mail but want to pay online instead can I ammend my return to do that?
Is that possible or do I need to just file it via mail?

is the issue paying or filing?
You can always pay the IRS online if you mail your return.

You do not have to amend your return. There are a variety of acceptable ways to pay your tax due.
If you have federal tax due you can pay by mailing your payment with the 1040V voucher, having the payment taken out of a designated bank account, or you can pay directly on the IRS website.
