E-filing for 2021 returns has been permanently closed since October of 2022. The only way to file a 2021 return now is by mail. Why do you think purchasing the software was worthless? You cannot use online for a 2021 return. Online is only for 2022 returns; only a 2022 return can be e-filed. So in order to even prepare a 2021 return using TT you would need that software.
When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

@FleezusChrist you did not waste your money. You have completed your tax return - THAT is what you paid for;
you simply have to mail it.
there was nothing in the purchase price related to efiing.
And if you did a state return at least you won't have to pay the extra $25 to efile a state return.
