Not sure how to handle this situation. Trying to do a tax return for my stepson. His wife left him early last year, so its been way more than 6 months. Their daughter who is 10 has lived with him ever since and he provides all her support. and pays all the expenses for the house they live in. Should be able to file for head of household. The daughter is covered under the health insurance marketplace. The covered individuals are his wife and his daughter. He is not on it. The form lists her as the recipient. All of the premiums were covered under the plan and she didn't have to pay anything from what I understand. Just not sure how to handle this complex situation when trying to fill out his taxes.

He can claim head of household. Since he is claiming his daughter, her health insurance information must be on the tax return or it will reject.
Follow the steps for a child in the article I'm on my parents' 1095-A form. What do I do on my return?
