Having a hard time filling an extension

I clicked on file extension but it just kept taking me to my return so I am confused on how to do it.

If you continue to have problems, you can print and mail your extension to the IRS. If you need to make a payment with your extension you can mail a check with your extension or you can make an online payment. To download Form 4868 go to: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f4868.pdf To make a payment, go to https://www.irs.gov/payments
