Hi! I was wondering what I should do if I never received my 2019 or 2020 federal tax refund? I did receive my state tax refund but not the federal refund. I can see how much I should have received but can see no record or information on what happened with it. I have tried everything on the IRS website, their “Where is my refund” tool, calling and have gotten no response or found a way to inquire about my refunds. I have also been told recently that they might acquire interest since they should have been issued, is this correct and should I take any specific action to address this?
Thank you!

Are you sure your returns were submitted and accepted?
Did you get the "Your returns have been accepted" text or email? If not, then I would double check to see if they were filed and accepted. If so, did you check with the Treasury Offset Program ?
If your refund is in limbo only the IRS can answer why. You can reach them at 800-829-1040.
Yes, you are correct, if you are due a refund and it has been a while, the IRS does include interest on that refund.
