If you received a text from TurboTax regarding a security issue, that may be a scam.

TurboTax will not ask you to ever verify personal information by text or email.  You should go to your online TurboTax to see if there is a message, alert or warning regarding your information.

TurboTax does not send emails that are not verifications of changes you may have made.  Even then there is a minimum of information disclosed.

The following link may give you more information on how seriously TurboTax takes your security seriously:

Unfortunately, this appears to be a totally canned response to my inquiry.  As I explained to the nice lady on the phone, the text message I received was providing a six-digit code similar to those used when a user is verifying his/her log on credentials.  It was NOT asking me for any personal information, which is why I suspect the answer I received from LisaBR is an automated response.

My reason for contacting Intuit/TurboTax was that I feel that there might have been an attempt by someone unknown to log on to my account, and the only thing that stopped them was the verification code sent to my cell phone.  If this is not the case, someone from TurboTax should be able to tell me so.

I have to say, although the live person I spoke with was as helpful as she could be, I am immensely frustrated by this website's lack of customer ease in contacting the company about a security issue.  It took me quite a while to find a link on the site that took me to customer service ("Contact Us"), and after finally finding a way to send a message about my concern, I was directed to call a 1-800 number, which meant more time, wading through one of the most onerous automated answering systems I have yet encountered.  I have nothing but good things to say about TurboTax's e-filing system, but God help anyone who has a security issue.
