Why did you purchase a second license? That was unnecessary. You will not get more than the five federal e-files by doing that. And you cannot download two versions 2024 desktop software to the same computer. If you needed a second different state, you could just add that other state for about $40 to the desktop software you already have. Seems like you (and maybe the CS rep) are confused. When you purchase Deluxe, Premier or Home and Business with one state download, you can add another different state for an additional fee. It is not necessary at all to buy another download of Deluxe, Premier or Home and Business in order to get a second state.
Seek a refund for the second download. When you are preparing a return that requires the second, different state software, by entering that you made money in a different state in MY INFO, it should trigger the opportunity to download that second state software program.
