Form W-4 write offs

I just started a new W-4 job and am using my personal laptop (stand, internet hotspot, etc.) and cell phone in the office. Can I write off expenses like laptop repairs, a laptop sleeve or case, keyboard cover, etc. as well as my cell phone and hotspot bill?

Can I also write off clothing, gas, or other things?

Would my total write offs be considered itemized deductions and would they need to be greater than the standard deduction to make any difference?

    Hello Alison,

Unfortunately starting with tax year 2018 unreimbursed employee expenses (the things you listed) are no longer deductible, the expenses are only deductible if you are self employed.
