I've completed entry of three 1099-MISC forms. One of the three prompts a "review" screen: FORM NOT REPORTED: Your Form 1099-MISC from [Company] shows $$ on line 2, but this income is not reported on another form or schedule. Let's review your entries now so you can tell us where to report this amount on your tax return. (CONTINUE) After confirming all entries [Box 2: Royalties] [Box 17: TX] [Box 18: $$].
Why does this 1099-MISC "need" to be entered elsewhere? Others do not.
Is it because it is the only one with STATE information provided?
If so, is it because the state reported [TX] is not the state where I live and file state taxes [ID]?
Does TurboTax expect me to file a TX State return for this income, which I believe is well below the threshold for filing a state tax return in TX?

Update: TX does not have an income tax. From Texas based law firm website: Texas is unique among U.S. states in that it does not levy a state income tax. This is due to a provision in the Texas Constitution that explicitly prohibits personal income taxes. As a result, residents of Texas do not need to file a state income tax return, and no state income tax is withheld from their paychecks.
Form 1099-MISC Box 2 is for royalties, which are reported on Schedule E. If you received royalty income from a gas well, for example, you need to set up a Royalty Property to connect the 1099-MISC income to a property. This information is needed for your federal return and is not specific to any state.
For more information, see How do I enter a 1099-MISC for royalty income?
Thanks. I was expecting the "Easy Step" process to lead me through that connection to the Schedule E. It does not. The Review process exposed the error and afforted directed access to the Worksheet that offered the Schedule E data imput.
Problem solved; just not intuitive (pun intended).
