Qualifying graduate school expense is reported on peoples worksheet Part II College Student Information. This is a new worksheet in 2025. Boxes 1-4 are checked yes. However Boxes 1-4 are carried to Personal Wks Student Info Wk & boxes 1-4 on this worksheet are checked no. As a result no credit is calculated.

I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:
TurboTax Online:
TurboTax Desktop/Download Versions:
*(If using a MAC, go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Help, then, “Send Tax File to Agent”)
The people worksheet does not have an affect on the Lifetime Learning Credit. As you stated, this is a new worksheet. If you are not getting a credit, are you sure you qualify. A graduate student would generally not be eligible for the American Opportunity Tax Credit, but they could be for the Lifetime Learning Credit. However, this credit is limited by your tax liability. So, if you have $0 in tax liability, you would not be able to claim this credit and would not see the credit on form 8863.
The personal info worksheet, student info, form 8863 and schedule 3 are all working fine which is what is important. Please check your return for these forms to see if you have numbers on these forms. If you are getting an error when you go to the review section, please go back through the dependent section for that student and double check your answers. Also, go back through the 1098-T section. This should resolve any errors that are showing up.
If the above does not resolve your issues, please send the diagnostic as per instructions above so I can take a deeper look at your return.
What you haven't addressed is that the identical question boxes checked on the two forms show opposite answers. Since this issue has not been addressed, I am filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. In addition I can file a claim in Conciliation Court which I have done in the past to resolve issues.
I am filing a claim today in Conciliation Court in the amount of $638. The claim is being sent by certified mail to the Intuits registered agent in Minnesota at the following address:
2780 Snelling Ave N, Suite 101, Roseville, MN 5513.I\
In addition I will be filing an online complaint with the Minnesota Better Business Bureau.
I will be identifying you as the Intuit person.
zip code correction: 55113
