I am ready to submit taxes; however, it says Form 8829 is not available and ready soon - it says cannot e-file. Does anyone know when this form will be available and will I be able to e-file?
Thank you

Form 8829, Expenses for Business Use of Your Home is available.
Go to this website for IRS forms availability - https://care-cdn.prodsupportsite.a.intuit.com/forms-availability/turbotax_fed_windows_individual.htm...
If you are using the TurboTax desktop CD/Download editions make sure that you have updated your software to the latest release.
Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen. Click on Check for Updates.
Go to Forms. When in Forms mode click on Open Form at the top left of the screen. Type in 8829. Click on the result to open the form.
I have updated and form 8995 and 8829 both show do not file. When I look at the link you provided they both say available. Any idea how to force the updated in the software?

I am running the 2020 Premier desktop edition for Windows and both forms are available.
Software release Version 020.000.1595

The resolution was to uninstall my software and reinstall and it worked perfectly. The rep stated an update caused a glitch for some users.
Don't waste your time and get frustrated with their chat help, just uninstall and reinstall and it should correct the problem.
If I uninstall and reinstall the software will I lose all the work I’ve already done?

No. The tax data file which includes all of your tax return data is in a different directory then the TurboTax program so uninstalling the TurboTax program does not touch the data file.
The tax data file is stored, by default, in the Documents directory TurboTax folder.
No the reinstall will not remove your progress. It is saved in a DOT tax file on your computer and not within the programming itself. Although backing up your progress to a removable storage unit like a thumb drive is always a wise idea.
Great thank you very much for your answer I will give this a try.
I contacted TurboTax support and the lady told me that the California 8829 is not available for e-file and that we have to mail it in. I was able to download the federal form into turbotax but for California it had red text at the top of the form stating we can't use it. Anyone else found a solution? Really don't want to have to mail in taxes.
If this is the case then TurboTax needs to refund our money because their program is incomplete. If I wanted to do a manual tax return I wouldn’t have paid the $80 for the software. This is ridiculous.
Has anyone been able to e-file after uninstalling and reinstalling with the form 8829? Curious if that worked.....
I did and it worked. Received my confirmation email.

I removed the program and reinstalled it like the community said and it still says the form is not ready. I paid for a complete program to do my taxes and have no idea how to do a manual page for this form. What is the resolution on this?
