According to TurboTax, I can e-file my return but I need to send form 8453 to the IRS along with copies of my 1099B forms. However, the instructions on form 8453 say the following:
"Use Form 8453 to send any required paper forms or
supporting documentation listed next to the checkboxes
on Form 8453 (don’t send Form(s) W-2, W-2G, or
1099-R).
CAUTION
Don’t attach any form or document that isn’t
shown on Form 8453 next to the checkboxes. If
you are required to mail in any documentation
not listed on Form 8453, you can’t file the tax
return electronically."
Form 1099B is not listed on form 8453 so according to the above, I cannot e-file my return as indicated by TurboTax. Is this correct?

No, you can e-file. You send the 8453 with Form 8949 (last item on 8453). See mailing 8949. You can substitute the 1099-B for the form 8949; see TIP at the bottom of that FAQ. You are required to send in your details if you entered your transactions in summary format and had adjustments. The IRS needs the details from your 1099-B for those summarized transactions.
