Form 7206 is apparently new for 2023. From what I gather, other tax prep programs (i.e. H&R and even the online version of TT) don't have the issue. I'm hoping the TT programmers eventually take note and correct the issue with the CD/Download version. I can't believe the IRS wants every self-employed person who deducts health insurance to inundate them with paper returns. And I also hope TT lets its users know when the correction has been implemented.
Form 7026 is new for this tax year.
For last year, it was Form 1040 or 1040-SR, Self-Employed Health and Long-Term Care Insurance Deduction Worksheet (identical layout). Which DID NOT require filing!
I have been on Medicare and self-employed the past two years - so no 1095A for me. Form 7206 was not part of my return last year. It is a new form this year. Last year my self-employed health insurance deduction went straight to the Schedule 1 - Line 17.
I agree.
It goes to Schedule 1 this year, too, but through Form 7206.
Medicare doesnt require/get a 1095A - a 1095A is for people who get insurance through the healtyh insurance marketplaces
I have the same issue. Windows CD for Home & Business. Federal file only. Token #1177023
Thats what I thought! I've never seen this form before. Am on medicare, don't have a 1095A and turbo tax is not allowing me to efile.
hopefully they fix this soon..
I was really hoping to e-file this weekend once the Form 7206 was updated by TT.
Looks like everyone has this problem and creating further tickets won't make a difference.
Neither will clearing the cache...
Since this is forum is pretty much the only way to get support at TT, it would be really helpful if they could post an acknowledgment of the issue here - together with a timeline when this will be fixed.

(Don't ask me which Thursday)
Just in case, update every day like I do.
Hey TurboTax
I installed today’s update and form 7206 still cannot be efiled. Once again please test the release on a Mac Book Pro M2 2022 running sonoma 14.2.1
Per Fed Ind Format 2023.15300 2/9/2024
to recreate the problem and hopefully finally fix this.
