Thanks - I tried at 854a mdt before you responded. No indication yet. Sounds like I will need to retry later but if successful I will post a new reply.
Not working. It is the 27th. What now. Unchecking box does nothing.
Not fixed. Still rejecting and says still open on IRS website. Today is March 27. Thinking about removing the energy credit and efiling and then amending return later.
Agree
Yes, when this error is corrected when will we know? No change on the IRS website as the issue still says open.
I would like to note that it is March 27th and I'm getting the error to e-filing because it can't process my forms due to Joint Occupancy on Form 5695.
Please wait until later today or tomorrow for the update to take place. Then you will be able to successfully file.
The refile I did this morning has not be accepted or rejected. It says status is "processing". Wonder why mine has not been rejected like others on this forum who refiled today?
I wonder if TurboTax started holding the returns to submit after the update so everyone wouldn't get rejected. Nothing you can do at this point but wait to get an acceptance or rejection.
Unless you have any of these issue below.
There could be a couple of reasons why you might be experiencing a delay:
1. First, the status might be pending for security reasons. This may be a sign that someone is trying to use your identity to file a tax return. This can take up to 72 hours, after which your return will then be forwarded to the IRS, or if applicable, rejected. If rejected, you can then correct the rejection issue and resubmit. Please see this FAQ for reference.
2. Secondly, there could be a delay if your return has various refundable credits, such as the Earned Income Credit, Investment Credit, Energy Credits, or Business Credits. You may need to wait a few more days and check your filing status again. Please see this FAQ for additional information.
Note: Both instances may be applicable. That is, you could have a hold for security reasons first. And additionally for verification of the refundable credits in your return. In this case, delays might extend beyond 72 hours.
I think they're correct and TT is holding them, because I've done 3 of these and the other 2 were accepted within minutes. With all this effort, I think switching to a live human in person may actually be less hassle in the future.
The only credit I have claimed is for a new boiler using this problematic form with the joint occupancy issue. Is that what you mean by "energy credit"? If that is the case the everyone using this form would have that delay?
I doubt if there is a security issue. I any case my DL# would also have to have been stolen to get away with it and that seems unlikely.
As of the 27th, the status is in "pending" status for a long period of time already, i do not know if this is actually a good thing or not. Since at least you get rejection right away before.
I went back and looked at the confirmation email I received after I re-filed my return at 758a pdt and it does state that it was transmitted to the IRS and to expect 24-48 hrs for acceptance or rejection.
Consistent with this, both my fed and state returns are pending status.
Has anyone else gotten that confirmation email and read it carefully?
my status says "pending" for more than 24 hours already, this is getting frustrating. As i want to do it the right right and not taking a hit of claiming only 1 credit like other suggestions online. I have spent $80+ on the software and have been doing this every year.
