i keep getting an error during the smart check stating that i need to do this form even though I've never filled one out in the past. I always pay my taxes in full and never have to do estimated tax.  My takes are simple - I'm retired with no deductions so I expect to pay taxes every year

Any time your balance due is $1000 or more, Form 2210 is triggered. The purpose of the form is to calculate if you owe a penalty for underpayment of taxes.

Go ahead and check that box to "Let the IRS calculate the penalty".  They may not, and you can get your taxes filed.

If the IRS does calculate a penalty, they will send you a letter letting you know how much it is.

Can you provide the specific error message you are receiving? Also, it is possible some information on the form was entered incorrectly. You can delete the form, and renter the information.

This Turbo Tax FAQ will show you how to delete a form.

Hi - thanks for responding to my question.  I never filled out the form.  It just automatically gave me an error to check off the box that said "let IRS calculate the penalty".  Not sure why I have to pay for any penalty since I pay my taxes in full every year.  I have never filled out this form in all the years that I have done my taxes.  My taxes are simple - income is SSA, bank interest and IRA distributions only. No deductions. So I know I have to pay fed every year. none for state (CA). My AGI is only $27,000.  This is the first year that I have to pay over $1000for fed.  Could this have triggered the form?

I tried deleting the form and re-enter all my info again.  But in the end, when I do smart check, the same error comes back.  Could it be a glitch in turbotax's software? Should I wait until late Feb to update the software and hopefully the error disappears?

I am getting some errors in Form 2210

The entry on Line 10 is supposed to come from Line 27, Schedule AI whenever Box C on Part II is checked.  Another value is appearing. Also, Box C in Part II cannot be unchecked.
