I have entered the payer's SSN, but the Smart Check federal review is tagging this as an error saying the Payer's EIN is required even though it shows the Payer's SSN on the form as expected. I am unable to submit my taxes electronically due to this error.
This looks like a bug in the Smart Check feature. Is there any workaround to this issue or override to the smart check?

Can you go back to the 1099-NEC entry screen and make sure the lower selection for (like a Social Security number) is made.
Also if this was uploaded, please delete and type it in.
Entered SN as suggested and still receive Check This Entry, Form 1099-NEC Worksheet(....): Payer's federal EIN - Federal withholding is present. A tax identification number is required.
I had entered 0.00 for Federal withholding. Went back and checked and shows $0 for Box 4.
Is there something else I'm not doing correctly?
You can try leaving the withholding box blank. You can't withhold taxes without having an employer number. So, if the federal ID number is a social security number, you can't have an entry in box 4. If that doesn't work, try deleting the Form 1099-NEC entry and re-entering it, but don't make an entry in box 4.
Okay. Deleted, attempted to re-enter without touching box 4. First attempt a value was auto entered when was filling out boxes 5 thru 7 so deleted and tried again successfully with box 4 empty.
Thank you for the suggestion.
