First time doing taxes

This is my first time completing taxes and with my first tax form for healthcare it stated i was missing 8 months with no insurance and i ended up paying 300+ for the penalty. But now it turns out i received a 1095-B and i had full coverage the whole year. What can i do now that i made this mistake? I self filed

First make sure your return has been accepted by the IRS. Next, amend your return to correct it and receive a refund.  You can do it yourself using the IRS Forms or you can use TurboTax to amend your return.
