No, you did not miss anything. As you progress through the filing process it will allow you to file both the federal and the state. You will see that Option to file the Federal or the Federal and State.
I’ve already gotten to the final stage of filing. It shows my federal and state on the home page but not before I submit it
Have you e-filed your federal return yet? We are just trying to determine at what stage you are at in the process in order to help you better.
Once you have e-filed your federal return, the process for e-filing your state should come up next in TurboTax.
After you entered your information for your federal return, was your state income tax return created?
Keep in mind:
Although state returns can be e-filed with your federal return (or after your federal return has already been accepted), it's no longer possible to e-file state returns before the federal.
This adds an extra layer of security to all e-filed state returns. This also means you won't be able to e-file your state if your federal return was, or will be, paper-filed.
If your federal hasn't been accepted, or you printed and mailed it, you won't be able to e-file your state but you can print and mail a paper return.
Married filers: If you e-filed your federal using the joint married status, but you want to e-file your state returns separately, only one of you will be able to e-file. The other must paper-file their state return.

Here's how to e-file your return in TurboTax Desktop:
With your return open, select the State Taxes tab. This will take you to the state section and you can proceed from there.

I’m stuck on the “transmit my returns now” I’m not sure if I press that if it’ll file both . The home page says both amounts but I just wanted to make sure it’s going to give both if press transmit.
Yes, it will send both. If you are done entering everything, you can submit your returns.
Okay I just wanted to be sure because when I go to process it just says “your expected refund with fees” and just shows the federal amount
