I imported my W-2 and unfortunately noticed today that the automatic import didn't include the fields from box 12. The fields were letter codes C, D and DD.
Fortunately, after having entered them, it doesn't seem to impact my tax refund / liability numbers at all. That being said, with all the magic under the hood, I don't know which forms are potentially impacted by these fields. Would I need to file an amended tax return?

No - While it's important to enter all the information on your W-2, you don't need to file an amended return. The items listed in Box 12 of your W-2 are informational and are covered elsewhere on the form. For information about all the codes in Box 12 of the W-2, please see this TurboTax Help article: What do the letter codes in Box 12 of my W-2 mean?

How about if you forgot to add code W, AA and DD from your box 12? For me it came in 2nd page of W2 and i forgot to add in my tax return...do i need amend it?
Yes, you need to amend your return.
Box 12 code W indicates that you have an employer-sponsored Health Savings Account and that there was money deposited into your HSA through the payroll system at work. You must always file a Form 8889 in any year you or an employer contributes money to your HSA or you make withdrawals from the account. ( TurboTax will automatically fill out Form 8889 if you and/or your employer contributed to an HSA (usually indicated by code W in box 12 of the W-2), if you used funds in your HSA (reported on Form 1099-SA), or if you inherited an HSA.)
Also box 12 code AA – Designated Roth contributions under a 401(k) plan. The contribution might qualify you for a Retirement Savings Contributions Credit( Saver's credit).
Code DD amounts- The total cost of what you and your employer paid for your employer-sponsored health coverage plan, they don't affect the numbers in your tax return.
There is something wrong happening when i try to add those missing numbers while filing amendment.
I also had missing code W, AA and DD in my other W2 so i updated that correctly. Only from my 2nd W2, i missed to update.
So when i go back to my filing tax document, i do see 8889 form but the amount is just from W2 from employer 1 and not added number from from W box numbers from both W2's under box 12. As per calculation that number (after adding number from W code from both w2's), is exactly same max allowable limit for HSA in 2022 so i dont think i should be owning any extra tax.
Same goes with code AA..my total number of my all W2s under code AA+D are less then 20500, the max allowable 401 limit. so i should not be penalized for that too..However i do understand i need to update those number correctly while filing but that should not remove my 6k+ in federal refund...
When i added those, my return is showing 0 (exact 0) from over 6000 in federal return i was getting. So this means, something is wrong...So i decided to take tax advise service from TT and they advised me to wait until Federal return is processed. They may deny if i miss and once they send back, i go ahead and update or contact TT expert.
