Hi all, I didn't file my taxes for 2023 because I had $0 income last year. A few days ago I received a letter from Affordable Care system that I require to file my 2023 taxes with form 8962 in order to continue receiving tax credit for my insurance premium. Now that the deadline for extension is also past (today is 10/23/2024), how would I file my taxes?
I had $0 in income last year and I owe $0 in taxes. I already used TurboTax desktop app to fill the tax forms for 2023 and I'm ready to mail them to IRS but I'm not sure if I need to fill out additional forms or pay additional penalty fees due to late filling. Can I just mail the forms as is?

If you owe no tax and had no income, you do not have to file unless you have a 1095A for marketplace health insurance. It seems that you did have that insurance, so you are required to file, even though you will have no income to enter. There is no penalty for filing after October 15 if you do not owe tax. E-filing is closed, so your return must be filed by mail.
