"Federal Tax Due" box is not updating

The "federal tax due" window does not update when I'm making adjustments in turbo tax deluxe 2022. Regardless of which category I'm working in. I can go into form mode and see the numbers adjust but the window itself doesn't update.  I've tried reinstalling the app and starting a new return and it does the same thing.

Forget the "window" for the moment.  What happens to line 37 of your Form 1040?   What "adjustments" are you making that you think should affect your tax due?

It's showing me the amount, however I want "the box" to update as it should. I've been using turbotax for 15 years and this is the first I've seen this issue.

Please ignore the Refund-O-Meter as it will probably confuse you ... instead refer to the actual form 1040 itself.  Check it before and after making changes to see how those changes affects the overall return.

There are many things that you may add that may not change the bottom line at all ... some being adding more itemized deductions or  credits.   When your federal income tax is already zero then adding more expenses or non refundable credits will not change the bottom line at all.  Many things cannot be changed ... SE taxes are one item that will not be affected by non refundable credits or itemized deductions so that "box" will not change no matter how much you wish it would.
